The Gathering Hall Hairless and tattooed heavily with arcane symbols, a Mage had arrived at the Manor of the Shadow Guardian Mountain to deliver a rather poignant message to one Debra Sunhaven. Storming in like a disgruntled badger while being escorted by the guard, he proceeded to sweep the organized piles of information from the Lady Sunhaven's desk in order to throw down a map and begin pointing out place after place. "The rains will begin within one week and last for four. Heavy downpours, easing to steady rain, maybe drizzle, but the downpours always returning. You'll need to sandbag the river to..." Dragging his gaze upward to the Lady Sunhaven for a moment, he poignantly looked back down in continuation of his spiel. "...to the height of your chin here, here, here and all along this section here and also this half league here." Throughout all of this, his finger was tapping the detailed map while the Grand Commander stared confusedly onward. "The rivers will crest during the fourth week and even with the sandbags this area here will be flooded." The speech continued and he jabbed a finger towards one of the pastures near the stable. "Expect a serious mud slide here and minor ones here and here." Finally, his informative speech ended long enough for him to cast a glare upward towards Des while his hands began rerolling the map. "Tell the bitch up the mountain the debt is paid." The woman up the mountain could only be the infamous Gwendolyn Brakala Kor'bien Dyrr - the Elven sorceress that had, with her husband, founded the basics of what was, now, the Guardians. Back then it had been the guild DAGoR and the mage in question was simply another of the many that had debts to pay the sorceress. Des, upon receiving his 'paid debt', immediately began preparations based on the information. She contacted everyone that needed to be and, in little time, the stage was set. Once everything had been secure and the safety of the individuals of both the Guardians and folks living upon the Mountain had been ensured, deliberations began. They were ready... but the situation posed an interesting dilemma. The rain was inevitable but how could they use it to their advantage? Drawing together Kejarae and the members of the Advisory Council, discussions were made. What should they do with the rain? It was a well-known fact that such downpours could have depressing effects on some individuals while evoking a means of procrastination. Not to mention it could easily sap the motivation out of any person that didn't particular enjoy such occasions. Being that the Shadow Guardians are usually a fun loving group, it was decided that such storms should be used as an offer for the fellow Houses and Kingdoms to have some amusement. Undergoing further preparations had the plans done in no time, though structures were bound to take longer in being built. The buildings, in themselves, proved difficult as the thunderous downpours began, but were accomplished. Orders were placed and quickly fulfilled, much to the Guardian leaders' pleasure and soon, everything was in order for the Rainy Daze. Now, as the streams and rivers were filled, as basins and gorges flooded, the Shadow Guardians needed only to wait for the upcoming weeks of glory with their families, friends and neighbors.
