Non-Combat Earnings and Penalties

Last revised 02/10/2003

  QCoin Earnings:

All the ways listed below are suggested ways to earn QCoins.  Other ideas are welcome, please bring them to the attention of the Guild Leadership. For further information on earnings, please refer to: Quest Coin Coalition.
Please note: the amount of QCoins potentially earned for each type of activity is subject to revision at the discretion of the Guild Leaders, and that these descriptions and potential earnings do naut apply to Forum Events or to multi-Guild activities, except at the discretion of the Guild Leaders...

Recruiting ~ Time spent within the Recruiting Hall shall be rewarded, as will recommending and distributing our application to worthy individuals. Effort should be made to remember we seek quality not quantity.  Amounts paid are totally at the discretion of the Guild Commander..

Shops and Services ~ These are business concerns that accept QCoins as payment. The clientele is drawn from the entire QCC, and naut solely from the Guild. Those interested in setting up a business of some sort are encouraged to speak to the Guild Leaders, who will be glad to aid and assist. A 50 QCoin bonus is awarded to the proprietor upon opening a Shop registered with QCC and listed with SGoD.

Wagering ~ One may certainly use their coins to add to the excitement of certain activities.

Obstacle Course ~ Revisions and adjustments are still taking place, but the guild Obstacle Course may be run for both training and to gain coins.

Salaries ~ Salaries are awarded weekly to all active members. The following positions: Guild Commander, Second in Command, Guild Advisors, QCC Treasurer, Stable Manager, Horse Trainers, and Shadow Whisperer Editor and Assistant Editor receive an additional amount each week. Other salaried positions may be added at a later date. A Salary is also paid to those individuals who spend time within the Shadow Guardian Inn, tending bar and keeping order. The amount and actual payment are at the discretion of the Guild Commander. Contributors to the Shadow Whisperer also receive payment for their efforts, at the discretion of the Editor.

Spying and other Missions ~ These are assigned through the Guild Leaders and are awarded QCoins, the amount to be decided by the DC and the Guild Commander, and will be based upon the importance, difficulty, and danger inherent in the assigned mission.

Guild Tournaments and Contests ~ From time to time SGoD will hold competitions that offer Qcoins as awards. The competitions will be posted ahead of time along with all pertinent information. It is possible that entry into a competition will require a payment in Qcoins by the entrant.

Proctoring ~ The Proctor of an MS shall earn 2 QCoins for each combatant. For a Ghost Match and Resurrection Match the Proctor earns 10 QCoins. For a Match of Death, the Proctor earns 20 Qcoins. For proctoring an Honor Match or spar, the Proctor earns 2 QCoins.

Scorekeeping ~ Here one is keeping score and is also a combatant. In recognition of the effort required to correctly score a Match, SGoD will pay the Scorekeeper 1 QCoin per combatant. This is in addition to the QCoins earned for participation in the Match.

Note please that there is a difference between serving as Scorekeeper in a match and Proctoring. When ye are proctoring that is all ye are doing, ye are naut a combatant also. Please also note there are types of Matches where a Proctor is REQUIRED.

((A mun note here.  There are many ways to earn coins, in general they are used as a means to reward activity by the player.  This is done in the hopes the coins gained by the character will open further RP avenues for the player to explore. Posting to the message board, assisting with such RL tasks as as creating and updating web pages for guild use,  these activities and many others are also rewarded at the discretion of the Guild Leaders .))

Disciplinary Measures and QCoin Penalties

First and foremost this guild is a Family, and as such, guild members are forbidden to engage in or challenge each other to a Match of Death. Conflicts between members will be resolved quietly and privately between those involved, and will naut be permitted to spread through or disrupt the guild. If private resolution is naut possible or is unsuccessful, the Guild Commander and/or other Leaders will attempt arbitration. If there is still nau resolution agreed upon, one or both of the parties involved may be required to leave the Guardians. While input will be considered from all sources, the decision to dismiss an individual from our ranks lies solely and completely with the Guild Commander.

QCoin Penalties:

Meetings ~ If meetings are scheduled and ye can not be present for them, notification must be given, preferably in advance.   Failure to do so will be viewed as blatant disregard of procedure and will cost ye QCoins, the amount to be determined based upon the frequency and/or severity of the offense.

Disobedience and/or Blatant Disregard of Orders ~ First it is important that ye understand that orders are ne'er lightly given, but when they are, I and the other leaders expect to be obeyed. Depending upon the seriousness of the situation, and the circumstances surrounding the incident, failure to obey an order, from the Guild Commander especially, may result in a fine of QCoins, suspension, or ultimately dismissal from our ranks.

Ignoring Assignments ~ If ye are given an assignment, 'tis important to note nau one can force ye to accept it.  What is required however is that if ye do naut wish this assignment that such be indicated clearly.  If an assignment is accepted, one shall be held responsible for it's completion in a timely manner.

Inactivity ~ 'Tis an unfortunate burden we all share, the simple but unavoidable fact that we do naut always control our own lives and that there are times when we are kept from the realm. As this is beyond our control no penalties will be handed out for this. However, every effort must be made to inform the Guild Leaders of absences. If it appears the difficulties may last for an extended period, 'tis possible for a Leave of Absence to be arranged, but again, this information must be given to the appropriate parties.

Poor Form ~ Most simply put, the Shadow Guardians of Destiny have a reputation for acting with integrity in their dealings both within our Family and throughout RhyDin.  It shall remain that way.

Know the Rules ~ Knowing and following them is a must. If you are found to be breaking them, ignorance is no excuse and may result in the loss of QCoins, in suspension from the guild or, depending upon the offense, dismissal from the Shadow Guardians of Destiny.

I trust all of the above to be common sense rules, and I doubt very much that we will have to enforce them often... but ye are now aware of them as they exist.
